program is a valuable
training tool and will
enable staff at all levels
in the workplace to
understand the concept of
Active Listening and to
see it as an important
facet of the communication
process. This program
illustrates and explains
the differences between
simply hearing and Active
Listening by showing
working examples. The
program contains a
variety of scenarios
designed to illustrate
behaviours which are not
conducive to effective
participation in the
Active Listening (and
communication) process and
then followed by a re-run
of each scenario where
Active Listening Skills
are practised. This
facilitates learning where
participants:
Active
Listening is an integral
part of the communication
process and, once
mastered, will assist all
those who endeavour to
increase their capacity to
pay attention, understand
and remember what is said
to them.
Being
an Active Listener means
being a better
communicator which, in
turn, enables staff to be
more productive, more
interesting and accessible
people in all aspects of
their life.
