Problem
Solving in Teams
(Code
004)
In
organisations today, be
they Government or Private
Industry, most people are
required to work in teams.
Why? Because a group of
willing and trained
individuals who are united
around common goals and
then who are empowered to
make decisions are making
significant contributions
to the competitiveness,
efficiency and
productivity of their organisations.
Many
teams are cross-functional
- in other words team
members have different day
to day roles but they're
required to interact and
work together as a team.
Often team players will
have different levels of
skills, experience and
knowledge and may include
a wide and sometimes
conflicting variety of
personalities. These
factors alone make it
difficult enough to work
as an effective team - let
alone handle the single
most challenging function.
That is, solving problems
and making a workable
decision.
This
video demonstrates the
skills needed for team
members to recognise,
analyse and solve
problems. Then make a
decision and implement
that decision by following
a structured process. The
video contains a number of
scenarios set in real
workplace surroundings.
Our team consists of key
players in a large
privately owned Conference
Centre. When confronted
with an issue vital to the
business, the team works
through solving the
problem and is required to
make the best, workable
decision. The storyline is
contemporary, contains
substantial training
content and is presented
in an entertaining style.
Pause
breaks are a feature of
the video and the complete
training programme
includes a comprehensive
trainer's guide.
